Could this finally be "The Year of the Ray"? In this post from FIO's Free For All writers' blog, staff writer Tim Hays discusses how the addition of another young arm to a rotation could help put Tampa Bay into the mix in the AL East this coming season. Sure, they lost a five-star stud, but the Devil Rays woes have always centered around pitching - now if only they could get that bullpen in check.

All I can say is thank you for Delmon Young, Rays... I think Garza's success had a lot to do with the coaching he received throughout the Twins organization, mainly from Rick Anderson at the show. Both have attitude issues, but the Twins have more of a veteran presence and an established clubhouse, so I don't expect Young to have any troubles in a Twins uni. Good luck with Garza though, he has some nasty stuff, and when he learns to throw that curve for strikes whenever he wants, he'll be a force.

Delmon Young is really good and he is gonna end up being really really good. The twins def got the better player and deal.

I thought it was pretty even. We'll find out in the next few years. Besides this trade was about two teams trading from a strength to fill a weakness. Have fun when Delmon holds the Twins hostage in 5 years when it comes time to talk contract. Well they will probably trade him in 4.
