Free agent right-handed starting pitcher Ryan Dempster turned down a two-year, $25 million contract offer from the Boston Red Sox, ESPN Boston reported Friday. Dempster also recently rejected a similar offer from the Kansas City Royals. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that Dempster could sign with the first team that offers him a three-year deal. Dempster struggled in the latter part of the season after getting traded from the Chicago Cubs to the Texas Rangers in July. He had a 5.09 ERA in 12 starts with the Rangers. For the season, Dempster went 12-8 with a 3.38 ERA in 173 innings.

Rangers should be ashamed for way they have treated Michael Young

So much has been made of players who have become distractions while asking to be traded. For the most part, these players have acted in a selfish way to get out of places they do not want to be. Little to no regard is intended for the team the player is currently playing for. Other times teams are simply looking to dump payroll because they cannot afford the higher...

Each definitely has a special place in my baseball heart. \\\\//// First … Mike Napoli. When he came over to the Rangers before the 2011 season, I struggled...
