Ryan Dempster does not enjoy facing the Angels. In his first appearance as a Ranger, he gave up eight runs in 4.2 innings to LAA. In his second round with the Angels, he only lasted 3.1 innings, giving up five runs in that time.
At least he lasted a little longer tonight, but his luck really wasn’t any better.
Dempster pitched just 5.2 innings, and gave up four runs on seven hits and four walks in that time. Two of those hits were home runs. One – a lead-off shot to Mike Trout. The second – Chris Ianetta’s ninth of the season. Ugh.
It was not fun to watch.

Yeah, I know they faced Jered Weaver for seven innings. By the time he left the game, the score was 7-2, in favor of the Halos. Nelson Cruz had a 7th inning home run and Adrian Beltre hit a two-run long ball in the 8th. But three runs was as close as the Rangers got.
