Derek Jeter returned from the disabled list in big fashion today by sending the first pitch he saw today over the right field wall and restoring our faith in all things good. Check out the video here.
Jeter, captain of the Yankees (and America as some say) had spent the whole season on the disabled list until last week, setting us up with a perfect Derrick Rose “The Return” style storyline just before the dog days of August to carry the team into the playoffs. Except he went back on the DL with a right quad strain instead.
It’s safe to say that his second first game back went much, much better.
