Yes, he did.  And, yes, that question mark is absolutely necessary.  I’m still a little surprised by the fact that Derek Lowe not only got a win, but pitched four innings to earn it.  I never would have seen that coming. Nick Tepesch started the game, but  was hit in the wrist by a single in the 2nd inning after throwing just 21 pitches.  Shame.  And I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who groaned when Lowe was called in from the bullpen.  But by the time Lowe left the field, my groan had changed to a cheer.  He faced the minimum in his four innings of work, keeping the Mariners off the basepaths for his entire time on the mound.  Unbelievable. “Smokin’” Joe Ortiz and Tanner Scheppers were the next two pitchers called on.  Each seemed to have some command issues, but escaped without giving up a run.  And Jason Frasor closed the game without issue.
