DMN columnist Kevin Sherrington shared his mid-season awards today. We will breakdown more on this team's first half on the blog next week during the All-Star break. Here are a few of Sherrington's awards: Best find: (tie) Andruw Jones and Darren O'Day. Acquiring them didn't cost the Rangers anything but money, which, come to think of it, hurts more than it should. Jones found his home run stroke and has Josh Hamilton's back. O'Day shored up a paper-thin bullpen. Jon Daniels' low-level acquisitions continue to impress. I have to agree here, though I think O'Day may be the better find, clamied off waivers from the Mets. He's given this team another late-inning option in a bullpen that had holes leaving spring training. Another find: Omar Vizquel. His experience could mean even more if this team stays in contention and he's been an important mentor for Elvis Andrus.
