The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired relief pitcher Carlos Marmol from the Chicago Cubs.
Reports of a trade between the two teams involving Marmol first surfaced on Monday.
In addition to acquiring Marmol the Dodgers received cash considerations in the form of international signing bonus slot No. 92, which is valued at $209,700.
Chicago will cover roughly $2 million of the nearly $5 million still owed to Marmol this season. The Cubs also picked up Matt Guerrier in the trade.
The Dodgers are expected to send Carlos Marmol to the minors for a few outings. Marmol last pitched on June 20 and was designated for assignment soon after.
