The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired outfielder Juan Rivera from the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday for a player to be named or cash considerations.
Rivera was batting .243 with six homers and 27 RBIs in 70 games with the Blue Jays this season. He was designated for assignment on July 3.
The 33-year-old Rivera originally joined Toronto in the deal which sent outfielder Vernon Wells to the Los Angeles Angels in January.
Rivera is batting .277 with 118 career homers and 446 RBIs in 11 seasons.
