Los Angeles Dodgers
Last night’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks was the type of game fans and players will remember for a long time.
In addition to pulling out a thrilling come-from-behind 5-3 win keyed by a three-run double from Tim Federowicz, the game was highlighted by some particularly aggressive brawling.
It was 2-0 Arizona in the sixth, when a fastball from Dbacks starter Ian Kennedy grazed Yasiel Puig‘s nose, sending the much-heralded Cuban rookie to the ground and concerning Dodgers fans and players. He eventually got up and remained in the game, but things felt tense. Andre Ethier followed with a two-run homer, tying the game at 2.
In the seventh, Dodgers starter Zack Greinke retaliated by hitting Arizona catcher Miguel Montero in the back. The benches emptied but no punches were thrown…yet.
As Los Angeles Times reporter Dylan Hernandez quoted him, manager Don Mattingly said “It should have really been over at that point” – but it wasn’t.
In the bottom of the se...

Let me set the scene: in the bottom of the sixth inning, Diamondbacks starting pitcher Ian Kennedy plunked Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig in the head (it looked unintentional). Puig stayed in the game after being checked out by trainers. In the top of the seventh, Zack Greinke returned the favor and drilled D’Backs catcher Miguel Montero. And then Don Mattingly chose to leave Greinke...
Really, Dodgers? We're going to do this again? Really?

Olivia Munn, the Geek Goddess beloved by both nerds and admirers of attractive, talented and quirky women alike, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday at Dodger Stadium. I was able to add yet another awesome Corey Seager to my modest collection of the future Dodgers' star. For just a bit over half a blaster, this sweeeeeet patriotic patch piece is now mine.Numbered 09/99, it's a fantastic two colors with some gray jersey mixed in for good measure. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp is living, breathing proof that when you do good things good things will in turn happen to you. Remember when he met a young man that was suffering from a terminal illness and game him his game jersey, hat, and cleats?
Did you know that he also flew the young man--Joshua Jones--out to LA and introduced him to a lot of the guys on the...
Yasiel Puig’s early success already has opposing teams sending a message.
“Welcome to the big leagues, pal.”
That age old cliche’ certainly applied to baseball’s newest sensation, Yasiel Puig, Tuesday night in the Dodgers 4-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Puig, who entered the game batting .500 with four home runs in his nine-game career with the Dodgers, was thrown...
It’s good that the Diamondbacks have at least been treading water while they’ve been waiting to get healthy, which is all you could really ask for. They’ve actually played pretty well, and are on the cusp of seeing some key players return to the lineup.
Don’t mess with a $147 million pitcher. There will be retaliation.
Before Diamondbacks starting pitcher Ian Kennedy hit counterpart Dodgers starter Zack Greinke, three other batters had been hit in Tuesday night’s contest between Arizona and Los Angeles. When Kennedy threw one up and in that plunked Greinke high on the shoulder, well, that was all it took.
Arizona’s Cody Ross...
Before Monday’s Diamondbacks-Dodgers game, it was the Olivia Munn show at Chavez Ravine. She was the Dodgers special guest to throw out the first pitch, which she properly walked out to the mound to do. Then, Dodgers catcher Ramon Hernandez flirted his head off with her on the walk back to the dugout (she isn’t interested, Herny).
Finally, she made Matt Kemp’s ego...
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks got into a bean-ball war on Tuesday night, and that led to two benches-clearing standoffs, one of which turned into a brawl. Any hopes that cooler heads would prevail after a day have gone right out the window.
The Dodgers are still upset about the fight, as they feel Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy intentionally threw at the heads...
On Monday night, what looked to be a 3-1 Los Angeles Dodgers victory quickly dissolved in the ninth inning due to Brandon League‘s inability to nail down the save, turning a probable victory into a 5-4 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
D-Backs starter Wade Miley got off to a rough start in the first inning: he walked Mark Ellis on four pitches before retiring Adrian Gonzalez on...

The Diamondbacks continued their success in extra inning games and with Patrick Corbin on the mound as they were able to hold on for a 8-6 victory in 12 innings over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.
Like they did the night before, Arizona was able to get out to an early with a three-run fourth. Martin...

West Coast baseball, you got to love it. Too bad folks out east aren’t awake to witness physical type baseball. They only here about stories the next morning. Anytime Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, Zach Greinke is on the mound watch out. This is the second time he and his team were involved in a bases clearing brawl. Luckily he wasn’t...
