Amid the Dodgers rejecting the Cubs' offer to send Dempster to Los Angeles, all the rumors swirling around the web, I figured an injury report was a good way to break things up.

Adam Kennedy has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain. No word yet on the severity of the injury yet. Replacing him on the roster is Shawn Tolleson from Triple-A. A curious move as the Dodgers just shipped him back to Triple-A after optioning him when the Dodgers acquired Hanley Ramirez and Randy Choate.

To me it would've made more sense to put Kennedy on the DL yesterday, preventing the useless journey that Tolleson just went on. Obviously no word on what's going on with the roster at the moment, but something is up. Regardless, Mattingly has his work cut out with all of the roster manipulation he's got headed his way.

Next up for the disabled list could be Scott Elbert, who is dealing with left shoulder discomfort for several weeks. With the acquisition of Choate, the Dodgers bullpen shouldn't miss a beat.

Meanwhile, Ted Lilly is progressing well and could be in line to return to the Dodgers starting rotation in the next week or so. He pitched three innings in a simulated game on Tuesday, reports thus far have been positive.

Matt Guerrier could also be in line for a return in the next week or so. Guerrier has been throwing every day for a little over a week now with no setbacks. The Dodgers are headed towards a 25-man roster disaster with all the injured players coming and going, not to mention the players that will be acquired via trade over the next five days.

Out indefinitely is Blake Hawksworth, who is in jeopardy of missing the rest of the season after having his rehab discontinued on July 1. Justin Sellers is still recovering from his bulging disc in his lower back and has started baseball activities. His return is still up in the air.

Dee Gordon is scheduled to have a pin removed from his thumb in the next few days, putting him on schedule to return sometime in the later part of August. With the acquisition of Hanley Ramirez and the solid play of Triple-A call-up Luis Cruz, the Dodgers haven't missed Gordon all that much.
