Yasiel Puig, the Dodgers 22-year-old phenom has been creating a buzz the past week or so. In his first week of action at the Major League level,  Puig was named the National League player of the week while hitting a scorching .464 with a massive .964 slugging percentage. He has also crushed four homeruns in his first five games. And then came last night. In the second inning of the night game against the Diamondbacks, Puig pulled up lame with a hamstring cramp while trying to beat out a slowly hit ball to shortstop. He stayed in the game. Then, in the 6th inning, Puig was hit on the nose with a 92 MPH fastball. He stayed in the game. As if that wasn't enough for one day, Puig got involved in the 7th inning brawl that ensued and threw punches with both hands, apparently defying injury once again. He was ejected from the game for "delivering an overhand punch to the back of reserve infielder Eric Hinske's head," writes Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.  It remains to be seen if and for how long Yasiel Puig will get suspended for, however, it makes you wonder if he will be an injury risk in the future because of the intensity with which he plays the game.  UPDATE: Yasiel Puig was a late scratch from today's game. Puig is listed with shoulder strain and the Dodgers are either unwilling to tell or do not know exactly how this injury occurred, however, it is likely that the injury was sustained in the brawl last night. Puig's Dodgers gear sets four-day selling record

Yasiel Puig is not only breaking records on the field, but also in the team store. The team sold approximately 3,000 units of Puig-related merchandise...

LOS ANGELES Major League Baseball held off issuing the expected fines and suspensions following Tuesday nights Dodgers-Arizona Diamondbacks melee, but its doubtful that any sort of discipline is going to quiet the bad feelings. Let’s Watch The Dodgers And Diamondbacks Brawl Set To ‘Street Fighting Man’

As I wrote the other day, all the Los Angeles Dodgers apparently needed to break out of their awful funk was the excitement of a flashy, young player like Yasiel Puig. And all it took to gain a game on the National League West leading Arizona Diamondbacks last night was Puig taking an Ian Kennedy fastball to the face.In the bottom of the 6th inning, with a 2-0 lead, Kennedy let one...

The Brawl at Chavez Ravine was stupid for multiple reasons, but hey, at least it was GIFtastic

Well, that escalated quickly. It all started when Yasiel Puig got hit in the face by a 92 mph Ian Kennedy fastball. Zack Greinke then followed that up the next inning by hitting Miguel Montero in the back. Now, personally, if I was Zack Greinke, I wouldn’t have hit Miguel Montero. I don’t really believe Ian Kennedy hit Yasiel Puig intentionally, and I don’t really believe...
