Felix Doubront had one of his worst outings of the year and the Jays took advantage of it early, beating the Sox 9-5.

Doubront's control was off and the Jays were able to put three runs up before recording an out and five for the first two innings.  .

The Sox offense did what it could to get back into the game as David Ortiz hit a two run homer in the first, and then scored in the third after Kelly Johnson made an errant throw on a Saltalamacchia ground out. Adrian Gonzalez got an RBI single in the third and Ryan Kalish tacked on one more in the fourth to tie the Sox at five.

The lead was shortlived though as JP Arencibia hit a two run homer in the sixth to give the Jays a 7-5 lead. Doubront managed to get out of the sixth and put an end to his night. He was battered for 11 hits and seven runs, five of them earned. Matt Albers didn't fare too well either as he gave up a two run shot of his own to Jose Bautista before Joe West decided to put the tarp on.

After a 41 minute rain delay, the Sox tried to make a comeback as Ortiz started the eighth innng with his second home run off of Darren Oliver, giving him nine homers vs lefties (most for any left handed hitter). But that's all the Sox could get against the Jays bullpen as the Sox struck out for five of the final six outs of the game.
