In each of the other two starts, he walked just one batter. Regalado has 40 strikeouts in 54.1 innings. Dennis Hurtarte, whose season has been hampered by injuries to his wrist and ankle, had two hits and a walk before leaving for a pinch-runner in the ninth. He has played only 22 games this season and the switch-hitting first baseman has just six AB’s against left-handed pitchers. Yomifer Polanco drove in the only run for the Pirates.
