The defending World Champion Giants are in a very odd place after bringing back nearly all of their 2013 roster: they're sellers. San Francisco is 12 games under .500 and is all alone in last place in the NL West. Only the Brewers and Marlins have a worse record among National League teams than the Giants. Brian Sabean's club might actually look to move some players in the next three days, which is something that seemed unfathomable coming into the year. PIC OF THE DAY Yasiel Puig celebrates his walkoff win against the Reds (Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports) Game of the Day: Rockies 6, Brewers 5. Oh Milwaukee, not much is going right for you. The Rockies took a 4-3 lead in the eighth, but Matt Belisle (who has been so-so for Colorado this year after being so great in the past) gave up a two-run homer to Yuniesky Betancourt, thrusting the Brewers in front. But in the bottom of the inning, John Axford did absolutely nothing to help his trade stock. He began the inning by giving up back to back doubles to Troy Tulowitzki and Michael Cuddyer to tie the game. After a Todd Helton lineout, Cuddyer moved up 90 feet in a wild pitch, and scored on a single by Nolan Arenado. All it took was 16 pitches from Axford to send Milwaukee's late lead up in smoke. Rex Brothers didn't break a sweat in the ninth to preserve the win, and keep the Rockies in some sort of state of contention. Pitching Lines of the Day: Tony Cingrani dominated the Dodgers in Cincinnati's 1-0, 11 inning loss, giving up just one hit over seven scoreless innings, punching out 11 and walking one. Tyson Ross outdueled Pat Corbin in San Diego's 1-0 win over Arizona, allowing three hits over eight shutout frames, walking one and striking out seven. Ubaldo Jimenez controlled the Rangers in a 6-0 Indians win, giving up two hits in eight shutout innings, walking three and striking out six. Jose Fernandez dominated the Pirates in Miami's 3-2 win, giving up two runs on five hits over eight innings, striking out a whopping 13 without a walk. Jon Lester carried the Red Sox to a 5-0 win in Baltimore, allowing four hits over seven scoreless innings, walking a pair and striking out eight. Hitting Lines of the Day: Nick Franklin bashed the Twins in Seattle's 6-4 win, going 3/4 with two homers and four RBI. The duo of Denard Span and Ian Desmond carried the Nationals to a 14-1 thrashing of the Mets, with Span going 4/4 with three runs, three RBI, and a homer, while Desmond went 4/4 with three runs, two RBI, a walk, and two doubles. Wil Myers played well for the Rays in their 6-5 loss to the Yankees, going 2/4 with three runs, four RBI, and two homers. In the win for New York, Alfonso Soriano went 4/5 with two runs, three RBI, and a homer. Other Games: The Blue Jays edged the Astros 2-1. The Tigers crushed the Phillies 12-4. The Cubs edged the Giants 2-1 thanks to the arm and bat of Travis Wood. The Royals topped the White Sox 4-2 in 12. The A's rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Angels 10-6. The Braves beat the Cardinals 5-2 to sweep the NL Central leaders. What You Missed: Albert Pujols' season may be over. Marlins hitting coach Tino Martinez resigned after allegations of physical and verbal abuse. Today's Games: David Price starts for the Rays in Boston in a rain makeup game between the Rays and Sox. Jered Weaver and Matt Garza will duel in Texas. Brandon Beachy makes his long-awaited return for the Braves against Jorge de la Rosa of the Rockies. Francisco Liriano and the Pirates host the Cardinals. Jacob Turner and the Marlins host the Mets. Kyle Lohse and Jeff Samardzija will battle at Wrigley.Mike Leake starts for the Reds in San Diego.
