The Outside Corner:
Rollling along with the NL Central, today is Brewers day on TOC. Despite losing Prince Fielder last year, and putting together a dreadful bullpen, Milwaukee still won 83 games, thanks in large part to fantastic offensive seasons from Ryan Braun, Carlos Gomez, and Aramis Ramirez. It may be more of the same for the Brewers this year, and the 83 wins they posted a year ago might be around what to expect again this season.
Yesterday on TOC, it was Pirates day. Here's your recap.

Can the Brewers compete with such inexperienced starting pitching?
That's not to say the rotation isn't good -- there's plenty of minor league success among this group. Mike Fiers had a minor league ERA of 2.80, including a 1.86 ERA in Double- and Triple-A in 2011 before a successful rookie campaign in...
The Milwaukee Brewers had a very good finish to their 2012 season. After winning the NL Central in 2011, the team slipped last year, mostly because of the loss of 1B Prince Fielder. At one point, the Brewers had won 24 out of 30 games to get themselves back in the race. However, they lost out by losing 7 of their last 12 to finish the season. The Brewers have committed themselves...
