Alex Foley pitched 7 strong innings in a complete game performance, and Eastside Catholic got help from a spotty Nathan Hale defense en route to a 4-3 victory at Bannerwood Park. With the victory, the Crusaders advance to a winner-to-state game on Wednesday against O'Dea.

Aside from an early 2 RBI single, the Crusaders' two other runs came via error or wild pitch. Julijs Pruzinskis pitched 6 innings, but his command was just a bit off the entire game, allowing Eastside Catholic to score just enough to pull out a win.

The Raiders made it interesting in the 6th inning, including a 2 out, 2 RBI double to make it 4-3, but they left the tying run stranded at second base.

Eastside Catholic has a long history of faltering under pressure in the postseason, but only time will tell if this team is up to the task of making it to the state tournament. The easiest way to do so would be defeating O'Dea on Wednesday. In the past, they would have lost this upcoming game, but is this team different? We'll soon find out.

Nathan Hale plays West Seattle in an elimination game Thursday at 4 p.m. at Steve Cox Memorial Park. The Eastside Catholic/O'Dea game will also be played at Steve Cox Memorial Park, Wednesday at 4 p.m.
