Edwin Jackson: Are Teams Missing Out On A Bargain?

The latest news today on free agent right handed starter Edwin Jackson has him willing to take a one year deal. The Red Sox have reportedly offer a deal between $5-6 million dollars. Jackson would surely be an upgrade over the pitchers Boston has signed this off-season, where they have picked such retreads as Aaron Cook, Carlos Silva and Vicente Padilla. Edwin Jackson has multiple three year deal offers out there, one of which is from the Baltimore Orioles. However, teams have been told the free agent is more likely to take a one year deal to boost his stock. It seems Jackson and his agent Scott Boras are on to something and do not want to give any teams the opportunity to get the pitcher at a bargain.
