According to T.J. Zuppe at ESPN Cleveland, Chris Perez will not be traded at the deadline.

Perez has been a lightning rod for controversy all season weighing in on attendance and even the Cleveland Browns. As the Indians sit in no man’s land in the standings many fans clearly moved them from the buyer column to the seller column. Maybe that isn’t the case, although there are still more than four hours to go until the deadline.

Maybe all this standing pat will lead to the Indians being buyers this off-season when Hafner’s contract comes off the books along with the one-year Sizemore deal.

Indians face KC, but will Choo be there?

Shin-Soo Choo has been the Cleveland Indians' top hitter this season, and he's had plenty of success on the road against the Kansas City Royals throughout his career. Whether he'll be in Cleveland's lineup when its three-game series begins Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium remains to be seen. The fading Indians have watched Chicago and Detroit make bold moves to improve...

An Open Letter to Chris Perez

Dear Chris Perez, I hope this is all starting to make some more sense. The trials and tribulations of a fan base scorned, essentially lied to and perpetually left holding the bag of disappointment, have all bubbled up to the surface in a Vesuvian fashion. Despite your outwardly vocal and oftentimes unsolicited opinions, there’s a reason why many Cleveland fans wanted you to stay...

Shin-Soo Choo gaining interest from teams

With the Cleveland Indians falling two games under .500, and five out of the wild card race, there has been rising interest into their star right fielder Shin-Soo Choo. Choo, who is making $4.9 million this year and is eligible for his final year of arbitration in 2013, would be more than a rental for any interested teams, and the 30-year old is a very attractive option for many...

Report: Indians Might Trade Justin Masterson, Red Sox Among Teams Who Have Scouted Right-Hander

Justin Masterson back in Beantown? It might never come to fruition, but the Red Sox did scout the right-hander on Saturday, according to CBS Sports' Danny Knobler. According to Knobler, the Indians have told teams that they may trade Masterson, who...

About time to fork the 2012 Cleveland Indians

After the Cleveland Indians won last week’s series against the Detroit Tigers, not only did Cleveland fans think they could make a run at the A.L. Wildcard. They also thought that they could win the division. While I watched them play I couldn’t help but think, “Maybe this young team has found a way to get it done. Perhaps they have an effective starting pitcher that can throw...

MLB Trade News: Indians Acquire Lars Anderson from Red Sox

Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 215-pound Anderson bats  and throws left-handed. The...

Box Score: Twins 12, Indians 5

Justin Masterson cruised through the first three innings then imploded. Masterson gave up two runs in the fourth, three runs in the fifth and then finally was tagged for five runs in the sixth for a total of 10 runs in 5 2/3rds innings. Not that it really mattered. Twins pitcher Samuel Deduno (2-0, 3.13 ERA) held the Tribe to just one run (and two hits) over seven innings to get...

Commentary: Porcello For Choo Makes Sense

The Cleveland Indians are considering moving Shin-Soo Choo, and the Tigers have just the piece that could get the deal done; Rick Porcello. Is it worth it? If the Tigers are serious about contending for a World Series, Dave Dombrowski should be strongly considering it.

Report: Phillies are Interested in Indians RF Shin-Soo Choo as Well

Now Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi have another name the Phillies could be interested in acquiring:  The Indians' Shin-Soo Choo. In their report, the two writers say: But club officials also are exploring deals that will add to the Phillies’ core – hence, the team’s interest in San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley and Cleveland Indians right...

7/31 Game Recap: Indians 3 - Royals 8

Trade Deadline News: In the biggest deal of the day (for the Indians) the Tribe moved top pitching prospect Steven Wright for the Red Sox AAA first-baseman Lars Anderson. Wright is a knuckle-baller that has played the entire season with AA Akron so far this year and has dominated. Anderson has some major league experience. In three postseasons Anderson has a .167 batting average...

Box Score: Twins 5, Indians 1

After an exciting series versus the Tigers, the Indians came into Minnesota looking to solidify their playoff push and to firmly place themselves in the “buyers” portion of the trade market. They proceeded to get swept. Badly swept. The Tribe was outscored 28-6 in this three game debacle, where they had their two best pitchers (Masterson and Ubaldo) going against a below .500...
