As a three-time All-Star, Evan Longoria is a favorite of autograph-seekers at Tropicana Field and elsewhere throughout the majors. However, he will leave Comerica Park with a memorable signature of his own. On Wednesday night, the Tampa Bay Rays' third baseman tweeted a photo of a bat signed by guitarist and Metallica co-founder James Hetfield. Hetfield was present for the Rays' 3-0 victory over the Detroit Tigers, and Longoria managed to score a signature before the rock legend left the stadium.I love my job! Thank you @metallica James Hetfield! RockLegend DetroitRockCity twitter.comEvan3Longoria Evan Longoria (@Evan3Longoria) June 6, 2013Longoria has big plans for the bat. Chances are, it will own a prime position in the two-time Gold Glove Award winner's "man room." To Longoria, the prize is a reminder of what makes his job enjoyable: Anything, including an unexpected autograph, can happen at the ballpark.@gabekapler too sick! What an addition to the man-room.
