For both the American and National League teams, the fans voted to send first-time all-stars, in Inge and Victorino, to play in the 80th All-Star Game.Casting 11.8 million votes, fans sent Inge to play for the American League all-stars. He outlasted Ian Kinsler, who finished the close race in second place, Chone Figgins, Carlos Pena and Adam Lind.Victorino received 15.6 million votes and finished just ahead of Pablo Sandoval, Mark Reynolds, Matt Kemp and Cristian Guzman.
