Bugs & Cranks:
a woman can try to trade her own children for a bird and the Jonas Brothers can be considered successful “musicians,” the concept of hoards of Brewer fans making the Miller Park lot into a temporary shantytown days before single games tickets go on sale is a baffling one. Yet, as first reported in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the campout is an all too confusing reality.
Don’t get me wrong; I’ve camped out overnight in lines before. I don’t want to brag, but I was the fourth person to ever eat at Oshkosh’s Taco John’s thanks to a 10-hour overnighter – and when I die alone and much too young, I’ll always have that stupid semi-honor to carry me into sweet eternal nothingness. And in that vein, I can totally understand nerds, dorks and the like cueing up to satiate the stewing desire to take in the newest Star Wars, Twilight or comic book movie opening night. But I find it difficult – even with the sizable portion of my life I squander, watching, writing about, reading about and talking about the Brewers – to see much upside in waiting to purchase single game Brewer tickets in February.); ?>
