Ryan Braun is about as valuable as it gets in fantasy baseball. But is he better than Miguel Cabrera or Mike Trout? Photo courtesy of Flickr user Steve Paluch. Barring some unforeseen circumstances, the top three players drafted in the overwhelming amount of fantasy drafts this season will be Ryan Braun, Mike Trout, and Miguel Cabrera. Or will it be Mike Trout, Miguel Cabrera, and Ryan Braun? Or Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Braun and Mike Trout? Well, you get the point. I’ll say right now that I believe this should be the Top 3, without question. But in what order? The cop-out answer to this debate is to say that you’ll be lucky if you end up with any of these three studs. That’s not a false statement, but let’s really break this down (in alphabetical order) to see what order you should draft these guys in.   Ryan Braun The Brewers’ left fielder is an absolute stud in all five fantasy categories. He’s gone 30-30 in each of his last two seasons. Heading into 2012, there may have been some do...

Mike Gonzalez, Brewers finalize $2.25M contract

Reliever Mike Gonzalez and the Milwaukee Brewers have finalized a $2.25 million, one-year contract. The deal with the 34-year-old left-hander, which had been agreed to on Dec. 28, allows him to earn an additional $400,000 in performances. Gonzalez had a 3.03 ERA and no record in 47 games last year with Washington, holding left-handed hitters to a .179 batting average. He has a...

Rebuilding The Brewers’ Bullpen

No bullpen took more losses (33) or blew more saves (29) than the Brewers’ relief unit last season. A total of 18 different relievers pitched to a combined 4.66 ERA, the worst mark in the big leagues. Unsurprisingly, GM Doug Melvin set out to remake the team’s bullpen this offseason, and that process started by jettisoning Francisco Rodriguez, Jose Veras, Manny Parra, Kameron...

Miguel Cabrera wants your vote for the 2K13 cover…and he wants it in Spanish (VIDEO)

It’s pretty odd that PlayStation is making a guy who became the first guy to win the American League Triple Crown since 1973 plea for your votes to be on a video game cover. It’s also odd that they had him do it in Spanish.

Vote For Miguel Cabrera Tomorrow!

Tomorrow the polls officially open and the voting begins to find the next cover athlete for MLB 13: The Show. If you’re not familiar with MLB: The Show, it’s highly regarded as one of the best sports game franchises around bringing you as close to the diamond as you can get without actually being in uniform and playing for your favorite team. Miguel Cabrera, Andrew McCutchen...

Angels Josh Hamilton. Participating in the DPL Baseball Power Showcase at Marlins Park, [...]

And by ten things to get excited about, I naturally mean ten baseball things to get excited by 2013. Otherwise the list would be full of things like "surviving the winter without contracting the black death" and "awaiting Fast and Furious 6." That said, with winter still gripping us and baseball season still oh so far away, what are the things that will keep...
