If you love the Hot Stove season as much as I do, you should probably get used to the names of Jacoby Ellsbury and Tim Lincecum, because you may be hearing them quite a bit over the next few months. From a fantasy perspective, it’s hard to imagine two more disappointing players in 2012. In our Draft Kit, we projected Lincecum as the sixth best starting pitcher and 31st best overall player, which pales in comparison to Ellsbury. Jacoby was our projected as our second best outfielder  (behind only Matt Kemp) and 11th best overall player. I actually predicted that Ellsbury would be the Fantasy MVP in 2012, and later had to eat those very words. In light of the poor seasons, John Tomase of the Boston Herald explored the idea of the Red Sox and Giants swapping the two big names. In the end, he made the following point about how likely (or unlikely) the deal is. There are no indications that either team is considering such a move, but with the first logs tossed on the hot stove fire, Ells...

Tim Lincecum creeps out small child

This is one of the better pictures we have seen in quite sometime. Check out the look on the poor kid’s face (I’m not talking about the kid on the far right) and tell me that isn’t the saddest scared face you have ever seen. Maybe it was the smell that Tim Lincecum was giving off? We will never know, but the photographic evidence will live forever. via Fawn Liebowitz Article...

Tim Lincecum scares Gavin Newsom's 3-year-old daughter (Photo)

San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum posed for a picture with California lieutenant governor (and former San Fran mayor) Gavin Newsom and his 3-year-old daughter, Montana, during Wednesday's World Series parade festivities. However, Montana seemed a bit scared to have Lincecum stand so close to her, resulting in a memorable photo. Photo via @Fawn_Lebowitz. H/T BLS...

SF Giants Rumors: Season And Parade Over, What’s Next?

Yesterday’s parade was a success. All the players had a great time, and the fans got to celebrate winning the 2012 World Series with their San Francisco Giants. The only downfall to me was the parade was on Halloween, so I couldn’t attend. I went to my kids Halloween parade at school. However, I did get a chance to watch the Giants parade on TV.   Now that the season and parade...

Bruce Bochy's Rolls Royce runs out of gas during Giants World Series parade (Video)

A funny thing happened during the San Francisco Giants World Series parade Wednesday when a Rolls Royce carrying manager Bruce Bochy and his wife apparently ran out of gas. A group of Good Samaritans had to get behind the Rolls Royce and pushed the car for the remainder of the parade route. However, this didn't seem to dampen Bochy's spirits, as he was proudly displaying...

Report: David Ortiz 'Likely' to Test Free Agent Market as Contract Talks With Red Sox Stall

It seemed all but certain that David Ortiz would be returning to Fenway Park as a member of the Red Sox in 2013. Now, that's certainly still a possibility, but there is a chance that Ortiz tests the free agent market first. It is looking "likely" that Big Papi will not agree to a new deal with the Sox during the team's exclusive negotiating window...

Bruce Bochy’s Rolls Royce ran out of gas during Giants World Series parade

David Ortiz, the face of the Red Sox since helping Boston end an 86-year World Series drought in 2004, has finalized a $26 million, two-year contract. The soon-to-be 37-year old Ortiz attended a Fenway Park news conference Monday to announce the agreement, which includes bonuses that could raise the value to $30 million. David Ortiz Resigns: No Power Outage For Red Sox

Red Sox legend David Ortiz solidifies the middle of the order. The Red Sox and DH David Ortiz agreed to a new 2 year contract worth around $26 million on Friday night. Ortiz will enter his 11th season in a Red Sox uniform next season and will be signed for a 13th as well. Ortiz’ season ended on the same day that the blockbuster trade with the Dodgers was made in late August due...

I'm Still Collecting Jerry Sands.

I'm a huge Jerry Sands fan, which is no secret if you've followed along here long enough. Even with his trade to the Boston Red Sox in a deal that brought Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, and Nick Punto to LA, I've not given up on collecting Sands' cardboard, especially his Dodgers' hits. The latest I acquired is one I had been after for ages. Red Sox, Ortiz “very close” to a deal

According to ESPNBoston’s Joe McDonald and WEEI’s Rob Bradford, the Red Sox are “very close” to re-signing David Ortiz to a multi-year deal. After weeks of negotiations, the Red Sox’ window of exclusive negotiations with Ortiz closes at 12:01 AM Saturday morning, but it looks like the sides will reach a deal before Ortiz hits [...]

Sources: Rangers interested in Ortiz

The Boston Red Sox are not alone in their pursuit of designated hitter David Ortiz. The Texas Rangers also have expressed serious interest in Ortiz, major-league sources say, envisioning him as a left-handed hitting replacement for their own free agent, Josh Hamilton.

Jake Shields Parties With Sergio Romo

Sergio Romo made some waves at the San Fransisco Giants parade as he wore a “I Just Look Illegal” t-shirt.  I found it funny and I think people need to have a better sense of humor.  Did Jake Shields really beat Dan Henderson?  I still think that’s a dream.
