First of all, Mike Trout is 21. He can booze as much as he wants. You won’t find us beefing with Trout over booze. In fact, we encourage all athletes to booze and upload those photos to Twitter or Instagram. It’s good for the BC brand. But don’t be shocked when fans are furious over Mr. Baseball coming to training camp at 241 pounds. According to the Los Angeles Times, Trout says his body fat is at 9% and he can trim down during camp. “I think it’s pretty funny,” Trout said of the response to his weight gain. “I usually lose five to 10 pounds in spring. I figured if I came in at the weight I want to play at and lost five to 10 pounds, I’d be underweight to start the season.” Attaboy. That’s we we like Mike Cobb. He’s an old timer in the 21st century. The guy is working on a $480,000 contract so it’s not like there’s extra piles of cash laying around to hire a chef. He’s going to pound a late-night calzone here and there. He’s going to play beer pong with Miller Lite (over his right shoulder). He’s going to drink Rumple Minze ($31 for a 1L bottle). It happens. “Don’t worry about it, I’m fine,” he said. “This is nothing too crazy. I feel fast. I feel quick. I should be good.” Oh, and he’s gets to hit in a lineup with Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols. [via @MelanieTruxton]    [Rumple Minze bottle IDing via @cjwalsh1] Filed under: Baseball
