Felix Doubront picked up his second win of the season as the Red Sox topped the Athletics 6-9 on Monday night. Doubront pitched deep into the game, being replaced by Andrew Bailey in the 8th inning. Some of Doubront’s success stemmed from the fact that he was able to make corrections to his pitching mid-inning, an ability he said came with increased maturity this season.
