TEAMS:
Boston Red Sox
The home plate at Fenway Park got plenty of use this season as the Red Sox had one of Major League Baseball’s most productive offenses. The fundraiser supports the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital’s Home Base Program which provides medical care to Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families that are effected by combat stress and traumatic brain injury. The event is limited to 4,000 entrants with space for up to 500 active military members available for just a $50 registration fee.
All other entrants must reach a minimum fundraising goal to participate in the 5.6-mile run-walk. Early entrants will need to raise at least $750 while all other entrants must reach the $1,000 minimum. The minimum age of participation is 14 but younger children can participate with full-fun...

Cherington expects to have a high payroll in 2013. Where's the money going?
Red Sox GM Ben Cherington went on WEEI today and had some scary interesting things to say.
First, he admitted to talking to Miami about some players, but then implied that any deal wouldn't fit the team's approach. Which is something good for once. Taking a slow & steady approach. Jose Reyes & Josh Johnson would've been nice additions for 2013 but with...
