Dollar Dog Night The questions have been abound with Jamie Moyer's struggles as of late--namely, about whether it's time to yank the vet from the starting lineup after starting the season 3-4 with a 7.62 ERA, and about whether re-signing the Ageless Wonder to a two-year, $13-million contract was a move based more on sentimentality than expected performance. However, if Jamie was to redeem himself before such conclusions were reached, he couldn't ask for a much better setup than tonight's. Grampy Moyer will be taking the mound in Philly tonight (during the return of the much-beloved Hatfield Dollar Dog Night) against the Florida Marlins, a team whose youthful, hack-happy lineup he has positively dominated since his arrival on the Phils--even turning in his best start of the season against thein Philly's 13-2 win over the Fish on April 26th.

That victory, as we all probably know by now, left Jamie at 249 wins for his career--a number he's unfortunately found himself stalled at for the month since. It's been a tough hump for Gramps to get over, but playing against the Marlins (who haven't been winning against anyone, let alone an old adversary like Moyer) on his home field, returning from a triumphant 8-2 road trip--you gotta feel that tonight's the night. With our lineup firing on all cylinders and our ace starting to look dominant again, if we can get Moyer back in the fold (and maybe get our closer off the schneid while we're at it), the NL East should be our oyster.

And if not, hey, at least we all get to drown our sorrows in cheap hot dogs. 7:05 start time tonight at CBP--let's make that ugly 8-12 home record a little bit prettier.
