DETROIT --Jhonny Peralta is not saying much, but he did speak before Wednesday's day game.
Tigers president and general manager Dave Dombrowski acknowledged late Tuesday night that they had traded outfielder Avisail Garcia to the White Sox and reliever Brayan Villarreal to the Red Sox as part of a three-team deal that netted them shortstopthird baseman Jose Iglesias because of the uncertainty surrounding Peralta.
Peralta was one of the names of players listed in the Biogenesis reports.
Although Peralta had initially said he had never taken any performance-enhancing drugs, reports had surfaced that he might be among the players ready to accept a plea deal of a 50-game suspension.
"I don't hear nothing yet," Peralta said. "Try to play this game. I'm still here, so I don't worry about nothing. Try to play this game today."
