Doug Fister returned from the DL to the Tigers’ starting rotation looking much like the Doug Fister the Tigers are use too. After dealing with a strained left side for most of the season, Fister gave the Tigers 6 scoreless innings with one walk and 6 strikeouts as the Tigers beat the Colorado Rockies 4-1 Saturday afternoon evening up the weekend series at a game a piece. Fister’s outing was certainly welcomed coming off a disastrous Friday night in which relievers Jose Valverde and Luis Marte allowed 8 runs between them and a 12-4 loss in 10 innings. “It’s definitely a step in the right direction,” Fister said. “I didn’t have any pain, and I executed pitches when I needed them. Right now, I feel very good.” Saturday’s outing was also Fister’s first win of the season. He headed into the game 0-3 with a 3.15 ERA in six starts. Aside from Fister’s performance, the Tigers were able to generate enough run support for Fister, something they really haven’t done in the 6 previous outings. Aust
