Gerrard - not quite on the list The Super Bowl was good last night, wasn’t it? All that stopping and starting and stuff - it was great. Anyway, after we’d finished supping our Bud and polishing off our chips and dip, The Spoiler got to thinking about another American sport - baseball. More specifically, we got to thinking about the chaps who play Extreme Cricket. More specifically still, we thought about a player called Gil Meche who quit the Kansas City Royals with a season left on his contract - 12 months that would have been worth $12 million - because he no longer thinks he’s up to the job. It follows on from Juan Roman Riquelme, who gave half of his salary from 2010 back to Boca Juniors because he was out injured.
