Florida Marlins: Javy Vazquez next start pushed back; premium seats going fast

Right-hander Javier Vazquez was scheduled to pitch Saturday against the Giants. He won’t appear again until next week in Colorado. Vazquez returned to his native Puerto Rico midway through the Braves’ series to tend to a family medical emergency. Though Vazquez is expected back Friday, the Marlins have slotted Chris Volstad and Clay Hensley behind Ricky Nolasco this weekend. After Wednesday’s game, the Marlins optioned Brad Hand to Double-A Jacksonville and promoted Volstad from Triple-A New Orleans. Making his first big league start since July 22, Volstad’s ERA has not been below 5.00 since he allowed four runs (one earned) over five innings in his 2011 debut against the Nationals… The Marlins on Wednesday announced the 12 MVP Suites in the new ballpark are sold out for the 2012 season.
