This is just For Your Need to Know:
On this Memorial Day 14 years ago the highly volatile (and highly underrated as a truly great slugger) Indian outfielder and attacker of trick-0-treaters Albert Belle breaks up a double play (roughly 15 feet away from second base) with a forearm shiver to the face and chest of then Brewer second sacker Fernando Vina.
Belle (6′3”, 240 pounds) knocked Vina (3′9”, 89 pounds) flying back and to the ground in a hit seldom seen in baseball. Although suspended by the Commissioner for his unruly attack, Belle was never officially declared wrong in his actions as he has a right to the base path in front of him and Vina was blocking it.
It was later suspected that Vina called Belle a dirty name…..Joey.
