Former MLB utility man Ryan Freel was found dead late Saturday, apparently from a self-inflicted shotgun wound. The 36 year old Freel spent eight years in the majors, from 2001-2009. He spent the majority of that time with the Reds, though he finished up playing 14 games for the Cubs and debuted as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. Known primarily for his hustle, Freel was a fan favorite in Cincinnati. He retired in 2009 with 143 stolen bases and a career average of .286. Freel had spent his life after baseball by working to develop young players. Freel was also named head baseball coach at St. Joseph Academy in Jacksonville earlier this year in June. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.   [Chicago Tribune] Article found on: Cosby Sweaters
