My initial perception was that there was simply no way to make this book into a movie as it really lacked the "story arc" that a movie needs. As time went on I began to embrace the idea. The only negative reviews I had seen were from Keith Law and Baseball America both of whom seemed bothered by the fact that the movie contained inaccuracies about the business of baseball while compressing the timeline of Beane's embracing of statistical theory. I was fine with that idea as I expect nothing less from a "based on a true story" Hollywood blockbuster. With that in mind...
