Chicago Cubs Online:
According to a report from Bruce Levine, the Cubs outrighted Angel Guzman and removed him from the club's 40-man roster. Guzman became a free agent in the process and re-signed with the Cubs on a Minor League deal.
Guzman's minor league contract includes an invite to big league camp in the spring.
With Guzman removed from the 40-man roster, the Cubs have four open spots on the big league roster ... one will be taken when John Grabow is activated from the 60-day DL.
