He was excellent on Thursday night with his control really impressing as he was hitting his spots regularly. He got into some two out trouble in both the fifth and seventh that bit him where he keeps his wallet as Jerry Trupiano would say. It was a very strong effort though and one to be encouraged by.- On the passed ball in the 7th Varitek did just about everything right. He dropped to his knees, had the glove between his legs and formed a nice square between his knees and his shoulders.
