Seattle Mariners catcher Kelly Shoppach made what may be one of the worst throws ever by a major league catcher during Tuesday night's game at Safeco Field against the Detroit Tigers. It happened in the ninth inning as Tigers pinch runner Andy Dirks was stealing second base. Dirks made it easily as Shoppach somehow threw the ball straight down into the ground less than five...
After a surprising series loss to the Houston Astros in which Seattle Mariner pitching surrendered 24 runs in the two losses, the Mariners bounced back to earn a split with the Texas Rangers in a four game set. Mariner fans were treated to more of the pitching they were used to as the Mariners limited Texas to 11 runs in four games. Seattle will now look to end their ten game...
Fantasy baseball owners are all too familiar with Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandex. He may not win too many games (because the Mariners suck)--and is why he may not be as well known outside of fantasy circles--but the man has a fast ball that is no joke and loves to strike fools out.
King Felix as he is called is off to another typical start to the season--16 Ks, 3.05...
Tigers pinch runner Andy Dirks attempted to steal second base on Tuesday night at Safeco during the ninth inning of the Mariners and Tigers game. The attempt was normal, but the best part was the throw that Mariners catcher Kelly Shoppach completely blew. Check out the attempt and try not to laugh.

The moment Dustin Ackley's line drive left the bat, Justin Smoak knew he was going to get waved home by third base coach Jeff Datz.
After nearly 4 1/2 hours of baseball and with Seattle running out of players, there really wasn't another choice.
''I knew off the bat I was trying to score. They had to make a perfect relay throw to get me. He was up the line there...
The Emerald City was put on notice early on Wednesday night that a wind storm could be emanating from Safeco Field. Why? Felix Hernandez and Max Scherzer were about to lock horns in a strikeout festival that left bats flailing at pitches all night with very little solid contact associated to the efforts.
Game 2 of the series between the visiting Detroit Tigers and the Seattle Mariners...
It's finally over! Mariners lose in 14 innings
The Tigers outlasted the M's tonight and Felix Hernandez was again denied his 100th win. Once again, shocking headline, the M's bats were flat at "key" times. Shocking eh?
This game was just the 2nd game since 1916 in which both teams fan 18 batters (SEA 21, DET 19). SF & SD each had 20 Ks in 2001.
Last night, Max Scherzer and Felix Hernandez dueled it out in what turned out to be an epic pitching battle where there were a combined 16 IP, 10 H, 1 ER, 24 K/1 BB. We already knew Hernandez was capable of greatness, but Scherzer has always been held back by his control and home run issues. However, so far this year he has a 40.0 K% (career high) and 5.3 BB% (career low) and despite...
Moment of silence for Boston, please. Really cool what the Yankees did earlier tonight.
7-5, 1st place, tied with KC.
The Tigers cruise up to Seattle on a sweet 3 series winning streak perched atop the AL Central. No reason why it shouldn’t be 4, but with Felix Hernandez pitching tomorrow, winning tonight becomes critical with an eye towards taking the series.
Many Tiger fans are feeling the effects of a 14 inning, 2:30AM ET finish from last night’s game against Seattle but it may be worth it given the outcome of the game.
A pitching duel that ended in a draw between Max Scherzer and one of the AL’s best in Felix Hernandez culminated in the bottom of the 14th inning with two outs and a 2-1 Detroit lead. With Justin Smoak on first,...
Has avoiding a sweep ever felt as good as it did yesterday? Beating the Cardinals is always satisfying, but coming back in late innings—after failing to score in the first two games—is glorious.
When it looked like the Brewers might get shut out again yesterday, I consoled myself by reminiscing about 2008, the one season the Brewers actually had the...
Most of us notice when a Major League Baseball player gets off to a fast start. Just about everyone is aware of the fast starts by Justin Upton and Bryce Harper. Their exploits are all over the highlight shows. But unless they are sucking the wind out of your fantasy baseball team or watch your team every night and see the numbers, players off to a really poor start get little...
