View from the top of 117 A Reds fan friend of mine had an extra ticket to Tuesday night's game. Did I want it? Um, yes. Luckily, a couple of Twitter friends (@ATL_Mouseketeer & @Twhyla) wanted to get there earlier than he could and watched BP with me. They loved my usher friends and we swapped entertaining stories, and they told me about their plan to get autographed baseballs by all the announcers. They were successful! I now have autographed baseballs from the entire @braves broadcasting team! Thank you Mr. Sutton for rounding out my collection! :-) — ATL_Mouseketeer (@ATL_Mouseketeer) May 16, 2012 I told them I would have gone with them if I thought I'd meet Tom Glavine! Legend. I'm glad they had a good time. Let's look at some pictures! Can we please discuss what the brohawk looks like when it comes out of the back of the cap? ...Because it does. Baseball in Marteen's pocket Have we discussed what a giant JHey is lately? I mean, Kimmie is normal-man-size...

Bullpen implodes as Reds lose 9-4 in series finale

Not much went right after the fifth inning for the Reds, as Chapman and Ondrusek gave up their first runs. The Reds (19-18) and Mets (21-17) got together for an afternoon bout on Thursday, with Cincinnati looking to sweep the brief two-game series. The big righty Mat Latos went against the knuckleballer R.A. Dickey on Weather Education day at Citi Field in New York. The Redlegs...

Heyward, Sophomore Slumps, and Old Friends

Understatement: Jason Heyward‘s 2011 season did not go quite as most of us expected. His (seemingly) long-awaited 2010 rookie campaign at age 20 mostly lived up to the hype, but he followed up with stereotypical “sophomore slump” season that was marred by nagging injuries, benchings, but most of all, poor hitting (relative to expectations, at least). Now 22, Heyward is so far...

Game 36: Reds 6, Mets 3

Now that’s what I’m talking about. Mike Leake finally had an outing that was, without qualification, good. And Todd “The Crane” Frazier did what Scott Rolen cannot, and launched two home runs–a solo shot and a two-run homer–to propel the Cincinnati Reds to a 6-3 victory over the New York Mets. Leake’s final line was 6 innings, 1 earned run, 7 hits, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts...

Mets fan arrested for seat hopping

And this Mets fan was an off-duty police officer. The story comes from the NY Daily News:  Officer Eduardo Cornejo had a legit ticket to the Mets’ sad 6-3 drubbing by the Cincinnati Reds, but ballpark management confronted him once they realized he was stretched out in a seat better than the one he had purchased. “He was in a section he wasn’t supposed to be,” Police...
