I don't know about you but I am sick of being on this yo-yo of emotion. Just when it looked like things were turning around, the Angels take yet another step back and remain in the cellar of the AL West. Granted the recent success has come against the Twins, who are terrible, but I would have thought they would have righted the ship by now. But here we are, a month into the season and we still know very little about this team. For example:1) Will Albert Pujols ever hit again?2) Will the bullpen continue to be a source of aggravation?3) Who is our everyday third baseman?4) What is the best offensive line-up the Angels can put together?5) What happened to Peter Bourjos' bat?6) When will Vernon Wells be benched for good?7) What do we make of Ervin Santan...

Albert Pujols' tough start to the season has gotten even worse now that the home fans have turned against him.
The Los Angeles Angels will try to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest gathering of people wearing cowboy hats with a fan promotion scheduled for June 2. Prior to the 7:05 p.m. PST game, fans will be given a Angels cowboy hat. The anticipated crowd of more than 40,000 will be asked to wear it for 10 consecutive minutes at the start of the fifth inning. A...
Call it cliche if you want. You could even call it trite or hackneyed if you really wanted to be petty about it. But, yes, Jered Weaver might very well have saved the Angels' season with his no-hitter last night.
I'm was almost hesitant to write that myself because it seems like such an over-reaching statement, but the more I think about it, the more I just can't...

A man in a new uniform
How quickly things change. How quickly fans turn. Just last October, Albert Pujols was celebrating his second World Series Championship, and as the best player, on the world’s best team, Pujols sat on top of the baseball world. Unfortunately for Los Angeles Angels fans, the championship trophy Pujols held was while he was in a St. Louis Cardinals’ uniform...
The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Bobby Abreu one week after the Angels cut the slumping outfielder.
Abreu hit .208 in 24 at-bats before the last-place Angels let him go last Friday. He didn't have to go very far to find another job, opting for a reserve role with the NL West-leading Dodgers.
The 38-year-old Abreu is in the last season of a $27 million, three-year contract...
Brandon Morrow entered the 2012 season as one of MLB’s ultimate “what if” pitchers. He has owned excellent peripheral statistics throughout his entire career but has struggled mightily with balls in play and with stranding runners, resulting in ERAs much higher than estimators like FIP or xFIP or SIERA would have us expect. Morrow wouldn’t be the first pitcher to prove an...
Dave Weaver was in his usual seat, 20 rows behind home plate, drinking a beer and shouting instructions to his son in the quiet lulls between pitches. His wife, Gail, was alongside him, calmly enjoying a little night baseball.
It really could have been any night in three lives filled with similar evenings at ballparks all across Southern California.
Instead, Jered Weaver made an...
Remember this guy?
There's a hitter in the Toronto Blue Jays lineup that's currently wreaking havoc on opposing pitchers right now and his name isn't Jose Bautista. His name is none other than former Red Edwin Encarnacion, and he's terrorizing American League hurlers without even picking up a glove.
The error-prone third basemen turned designated hitter...
Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo homered, C.J. Wilson pitched
effectively through eight innings and the Los Angeles Angels
bounced back from consecutive shutout losses against Toronto to
beat the Blue Jays 6-2 Saturday night with slumping slugger Albert
Pujols on the bench.
The San Diego Padres today announced they have acquired infielder Alexi Amarista and right-handed pitcher Donn Roach from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for right-handed pitcher Ernesto Frieri.
Toronto Blue Jays (16-11) @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (10-17)Pitching Probables: TOR – Kyle Drabek (2-2, 2.40 ERA) LAA –CJ Wilson (3-2, 2.70 ERA)Game Info: 6:05 PM PT; TV - Fox Sports West; Radio - KLAA 830
So the big news of the day going into this game is that Albert Pujols is getting the day off. This move is interesting because if the offense somehow miraculously...
Toronto's Henderson Alvarez threw a complete game shutout on Friday, but it wasn't without a close encounter with a line drive. If nothing else, it lent itself to some good captions. Check out the winners of Saturday's #NESNCaption Caption Contest below. James Mark Bento: "who put that bannana peel there" Craig Lander: "Crap, How do you do that Tebow thing...
