This is the post I make where you guys can kind of tell I'm starting to lose it but I try to keep it veiled, albeit very thinly. The fates would have it that the Angels would squeak ever so closely to knocking the Rangers out of the first, in a very pleasing fashion at that, only for them to just crap out and drop 2.5 games in the standings. There's still soooo much baseball left to be played and I know that, but my god can they just stop blueballing us for once??? Too much to ask?

What gets to me the most is the fact that their recent struggles have come against a string of NL teams, which the Angels ALWAYS pound on. Except for this season, where the offense has seemingly crapped out in tough spots over the last few series aside from a beatdown laid upon the Colordo Rockies that was so bad I'm pretty sure the local P.D has an aggravated assault warrant out on Mark Trumbo. Besides then the Angels offense has been faltering badly, they've crapped out on tough games against the Dodgers, the D'backs (although starting pitching saved them that series), and now the Giants. This is an unfortunate recurring trend that can only broken by an offensive explosion.

Thank the gods Barry Zito is the starter for the Giants tonight, and yeah I know he's having a pretty decent bounce back year but to me and the rest of baseball he's still the same Barry Zito that owns the contract that is the bane of GM Brian Sabean's career. I'm not hoping to see a ridiculously overpaid 4th starter take the mound today, im expecting to see it.

If you're looking forward to seeing a repeat of the series finale against the Rockies minus the horrible effort by Santana (because we all know nobody can lay a hand on the immaculate C.J Wilson without having their faces melted) then you best buckle up them seat belts baby! I dunno why you guys have seat belts on your couches, that's weird, but get comfortable because you're going to see one hell of a ravaging tonight!!!

SF Giants Rumors: Zito, Cabrera Record, All Star Voting, Giants Linked to Starting Pitcher

The San Francisco Giants have dropped game 2 of the 3-game series to the Angels. Barry Zito tossed 3 1/3 innings before Bruce Bochy finally decided to pull the hook. Zito gave up 8 runs in his short outing.   Outfielder Melky Cabrera is having an awesome year thus far. Last night he reached 100 hits in 291 plate appearances. That’s the fastest in San Francisco history! The living...

Weaver helps Angels shutout M's in return

ANAHEIM, Calif. Jered Weaver must have counted the days. Twenty-two of them passed since the last time he pitched in a game, and every one was tortuous. For a starting pitcher, waiting four days between starts is difficult enough. Going on the disabled list, then waiting to heal and inching back to health is almost inhumane. Pitchers want to be on the mound, not on the trainer...

Why My Girlfriend Is Jealous Of Mike Trout

I recently wrote a post at Halo Hangout asking if the Mike Trout love has gone too far. My quick, and obvious, answer was "no." In fact, Trout probably ins't getting enough love. My girlfriend, on the other hand, disagrees.According to her, a Yankees fan I might add, I write and talk about Trout too much. She's starting to get jealous. Of course, she has nothing...

Angels await test results on Williams

Los Angeles Angels right-hander Jerome Williams remained hospitalized for part of the day Tuesday after being taken to UCI Medical Center on Monday night. Williams was having breathing difficulties and apparently passed out in the clubhouse after being removed in the fourth inning of his start against the Giants on Monday. The Angels were not giving any details of Williams'...

Angels' Weaver will return Wednesday

Los Angeles Angels ace Jered Weaver will be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday, when he will make his first start in more than two weeks. Weaver suffered a strained lower back in the first inning on May 28 and has not pitched since. He felt good during his bullpen session on Sunday, and is scheduled to pitch Wednesday against the Giants. Angels manager Mike Scioscia...

Angels designate David Pauley for assignment….again

The Los Angeles Angels have designated David Pauley for assignment, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports. The move creates room for infielder Andrew Romine who was recalled from Triple-A. Pauley went 0-1 with a 4.35 ERA, 0.9 HR/9, 2.6 BB/9 and 3.5 SO/9 in 10.1 innings with the Angels this season. was hitting .281/.335/.367 with 3 HR's, 23 RBI's and a .701 OPS in 221 AB'...

Tim Lincecum: Bad Luck or Bad Pitches?

After giving up five runs in five innings in Seattle on Saturday, Tim Lincecum‘s ERA now stands at 6.19. However, his 3.87 FIP and 3.82 xFIP stand in stark contrast to that mark, and his walk rate, strikeout rate, and home run (or fly ball) rate suggest that his process and results haven’t lined up in the season’s first two months. You can essentially trace the cause of his...

Game Recap 6/20/12: Power Play - Angels 6 Giants 0

Wooohooooo, I actually happen to be a pretty smart guy. Not only did I predict a Zito beatdown, but I also called for it to get the ball rolling on some strong offensive production for the Angels. A lot of things when right tonight; the small ball, the long ball, the starting pitching; and speaking of the starting pitching wasn't it awesome to see fresh off the DL Jered Weaver...

Cain’s No-No Aftermath

There was no suspense as to whether Matt Cain would be the one to finally take a spot next to Johnny Vander Meer in the baseball record books with a second no-hitter in consecutive starts. Mike Trout banged a single to left on Cain’s third pitch of the night Monday against the Angels. Although Cain and the Giants won, the typically consummate righty was far from his sharpest. Cain...

Weaver's strong return leads Halos over Giants

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Jered Weaver pitched six innings of two-hit ball in his return from the disabled list and the Los Angeles Angels beat the San Francisco Giants 6-0 on Wednesday night, handing Ryan Vogelsong his first loss in almost seven weeks. Alberto Callaspo homered against Vogelsong and teammates Kendrys Morales and Mark Trumbo greeted former Angels prospect Shane Loux with...

Game Recap 6/18/12: Vanity Start

I know that I've been building up Jerome the last few previews, and coincidentally since I started talking him up he's been having some rather unlucky starts. Unlike his start against the Dodgers, he actually seems to have a decent reason for having a less than stellar start today.Jerome Williams was taken to the hospital after his start, experiencing shortness of breath...

Game Preview 6/20/12: Return of the Dream Weaver - Giants @ Angels

Scott Kazmir expected to sign with Sugar Land Skeeters

The Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent league are expected to sign left-hander Scott Kazmir, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports. If you are wondering why Kazmir selected the Skeeters, it's not because of the awesome team name, it is because they play in Houston, his hometown. Kazmir had pitched in front of numerous teams this past offseason including the Mets, but wasn&...
