After a successful series against the Rangers the Angels are looking to get back to their abusive ways against their favorite punching bag the Seattle Mariners. This would be a great time for Santana to get back on a good streak as his last two games have left him winless, though it doesn't seem like his control issues over the past few games are going to whisk away in time for tonight's start. Santana just isn't the type of pitcher who can get things going at the snap of someones fingers, and as bad as his last few starts have been it seems as if he's on track for another mediocre start. He's only worked 10 innings in his previous two starts, walking 8 and giving up 9 runs in each start.
Doesn't seem like much of a recipe for success do...

Seattle Mariners offense starts clicking
As we go deeper into the MLB season, you get a feel for teams. The Seattle Mariners slumped into last place in the A.L. West, mainly because of a lack of offense. But as this week has shown, teams can still surprise. After putting a five game losing streak behind them, the Mariners won three out of their next five. More surprising, in each win the Mariners scored double digit runs...
My oh My! Top play of the week for the Seattle Mariners (video)
Ichiro goes deep twice
Okay, this is more of a save face piece than anything else, but seriously, who would’ve thought that after being placed back at the top of the order, Ichiro would finally show some of that number three power?
Mariners skipper Eric Wedge decided to finally give up on his experiment of having Ichiro in the third spot earlier in the week, and on Saturday, that...
Trumbo rebounds from worst game to his best
ANAHEIM, Calif. Like any good professional hitter, Mark Trumbo walked out of Angel Stadium late Monday night and wiped away an awful game from his memory.
Except for one thing. He remembered to watch some video.
Hitters don't like to dwell on bad games, and Trumbo had a bad one: 0 for 5 with four strikeouts.
Tuesday night, in what can only be considered an immediate and impressive...
Hernandez scratched from Wednesday's game vs. Halos
Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez has been scratched from Wednesday night's scheduled start because of lower-back pain, Manager Eric Wedge announced after Monday night's game, but that is not necessarily a good thing for the Angels.
The Angels have actually fared well against the 2010 American League Cy Young Award winner, who has a 6-10 career record and 3.80 earned...
Previewing the Seattle Mariners Draft
The Seattle Mariners pick 3rd overall in MLB's 2012 First Year Player Draft, which kicks off Tuesday Night. Who are the top players? Which direction are the Mariners leaning at 3? What local products are high on draft boards? SeattleClubhouse's Rick Randall reached out to some industry experts locally and nationally to get answers to these questions and more.
Weekly Seattle Mariners recap: Series pitching vs. Texas, Chicago White Sox
Incredible week of baseball
For those that were mildly paying attention, the Seattle Mariners scored 49 runs (jeepers!). For those that have intently watched this team over the course of the season, you can understand when I say the Mariners have been on the verge of busting out offensively for a few weeks now.
Of course, many didn’t think it would be a 49 run explosion but considering...
Game Recap 6/5/12: An Heir to the Throne - Angels 6 Mariners 1
Pretty fancy shmancy game by the Halo's today. Trumbo bounced back from his horrible 4 strikeout game yesterday with two big blasts, funny timing with those homeruns as Robinson Cano was recently named AL home run derby captain. Trumbo is the kind of guy to make statements about his playing ability, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him playing himself into not only the...
Despite loss, Angels keep AL West interesting
ANAHEIM, Calif. It looks like we're finally going to have a race in the American League West.
The Angels and Texas Rangers have played six times this season, and so far all they've determined is that they stand on equal ground. Each team has won three games, but they've really just begun.
There are still 13 games left between them, including six meetings in 13 days...
Angels fans set world record wearing cowboy hats (Video)
Los Angeles Angels fans in attendance at Saturday night's game against the Texas Rangers set a Guinness World Record for most cowboy hats worn at a single event.
Your browser does not support iframes.
Black cowboy hats were given out to the fans in order to set the record, with the only catch being that the fans had to wear the hats for 10 minutes in order to make the record...

Former Mariners GM, Rangers exec Hal Keller dies
Former Seattle Mariners general manager and longtime Texas Rangers executive Hal Keller has died. He was 84.
The Rangers say Keller died in his sleep at his home in Sequim, Wash., early Tuesday. He was being treated for esophageal cancer.
Keller played 25 games with Washington from 1949-52. He spent most of his baseball career in scouting and front office roles.

Mariners-Angels Preview
The Seattle Mariners couldn't completely cool off a red-hot opponent in the middle stop on their road trip. They'll get another crack a cooling off another surging club in the final series of their nine-game trek.
The Mariners have had little success in recent visits to Anaheim to face the Los Angeles Angels, who will seek their 11th win in 13 contests overall and their...
Fantasy Baseball Daily Fix: Trout Continues To Impress, Parker Flirts With No-No
Mike Trout (credits below) It was a really slow night in baseball but let's get at it anyways. As many of you might already know from the feature piece I wrote a few weeks back on Allen Craig, I've got a serious man crush on this guy. In just the third game back from the DL Craig went 2-for-3 from the plate and knocked one out of the park, along with three RBI. With...
BP Unfiltered: Baseball is Predictable, Unpredictable by Ben Lindbergh
The three most recent press releases to appear at MLB.com:
Bryce Harper and Mike Trout being the best rookies in baseball? Predictable. Preordained, even. Jim Johnson having a 0.78 ERA and a 17-for-17 record in save opportunities? Not as predictable. Both are why we watch.
