The Angels have finally picked up a much needed game after a rough series in Texas and Chicago with their win over the Athletics tonight. Jered Weaver, the winning pitcher in tonight's game, led the Angels to victory with a CGO against the Athletics. Now the Angels are back in their rightful spot as the second place team in the AL West, which is much sadder to type out than I realized. They're finally getting their footing reset as the Wild Card leaders, and once they get back on their feet the run for the division against the Texas Rangers is going to get much hotter.Untill then, the Angels have quite a bit of catching up to do.Angels 4 Athletics 0
Game Recap
The Angels were able to get to a typically dominate Jarrod Parker early, tagging him for 2 runs in the top of the 2nd, which would prove to be the only support Weaver needed. Weaver, in complete contrast to Parker's 4 ER outing, was able to go all 9 innings in a 4 hit shutout of the Athletics in Oakland ton...

Angels' Wells struggles to adjust to life as a reserve
Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia acknowledges that there is difficulty in trying to produce with the sporadic playing time Vernon Wells likely will be getting. However, he clearly wants to see more than Wells has shown him since returning from thumb surgery. "You might not find the groove, but you have to have better at-bats," Scioscia said Tuesday before the...

Welcome to this week’s edition of Who’s Hot, Who’s Not. I’ll be discussing a familiar face with a still-unfamiliar uniform, a revitalized ace and a former ace who needs an attitude adjustment.

“Happy Birthday, Dear Trouty….”
Mike Trout turns 21 years young today.
Aaron Gleeman of HardballTalk makes a point to say that Trout is “the American League’s best player”, and he’s wrong.
I fall more in like with the thinking of my dear friend M.J. Lloyd, who has reminded me via text all season long that Trout is baseball’s top player.

Angels can still salvage their road trip
There was an unsatisfying four-game split in Texas and a series loss in Chicago, but the Angels can still salvage something useful before they return home later this week.
If they can win two of three games in Oakland beginning Monday night, there will be a measure of triumph at the end of an exhausting road trip.
Right now, there's nothing worthy of praise. Everything good...

Hunter enjoys Lincoln
Typically unofficial visits to Lincoln are jam packed for football recruits. For Torii Hunter, Jr. it was more than that. Hunter was in Lincoln for just a day and had to check out both the football and the baseball programs. While he didn't get to see some things as much as he would have liked he came away from the visit very impressed.
