RECAP:
Baseball is finally here as the Mets opened their Grapefruit League schedule against the Orioles. The Mets piled up nine runs on fifteen hits while only giving up three runs on nine hits. Luis Castillo led the offensive assault out of the lead off position with two hits and four RBI. Angel Pagan and Nick Evans had three hits each and Ryan Church had three RBI out of the cleanup spot. As I wrote in an earlier post Sean Green came out in the first inning and it appears it was actually a problem with his fingernail which should not be anything super serious. The rest of the pitching was pretty spread out as it normally is in Spring Training with the nine innings being divided amongst eight different pitchers. The bottom of the ninth ended interestingly as it always does with the Orioles loading the bases, however, a soft infield grounder provided a double play and the Mets a 9-3 victory.

OPINION:
Although it is early it is very good to see Luis Castillo hitting well. It appears he has lost around 18 pounds and is looking healthy. Also, I do not care who is on the mound or who the Mets are playing I want to see zeros in the ninth inning. 1-0 and looking forward to the televised game tomorrow.
