Ken Griffey Jr. gets the start in left for just the second time in his career. The other one was Aug. 23, 2002, at Houston, while he was with the Reds.
"See how fast they changed that -- the next day, I was in center,'' he said.
Griffey has played four previous games in the outfield this year, all in right and none since April 12.
"You're all making too big a deal of this,'' he said in mock anger. "I've done this my whole life."
Griffey added that he's not concerned about his defense.
"Someone in the dirt area has messed up before it got to me,'' he joked. "I didn't have a hand on the ball until I went to pick it up.''
Brandon Morrow will be the one in the "dirt area" tonight, his first start since Sept. 26 of last season, when he beat Oakland. It wasn't exactly a gem, however. Morrow ...
