With the win last night, the Phillies passed the Washington Nationals for second place in the division, and are six and a half back of the Braves in the N.L. East. Cole Hamels has pitched well of late for the Phillies, and he will get the baseball again today. In his last three starts he is 2-0 with a 1.57 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 23 innings. His last time out against the Mets he suffered the loss after allowing four runs in seven innings of work, but back in April he did hold them to a run over six innings for his only win in the first two months of the season.
