Pirates (25-25) at Brewers (23-28)

8:10 PM EST–Miller Park, Milwaukee

Here is the MLB.com Gameday

TV: ROOT Sports

Dun dun dun. Time for the Brewers and dreaded Miller Park, where the Pirates are an absurd 4-38 in their last 42 games. That is unfathomably awful. You know that, I know that, everybody that follows either of these teams knows that. It has to stop eventually, right?

About the Brewers:

This is not the same Brewers team that the Pirates are used to seeing. They’re under .500 and have been kind of a mess all year. The upstart Pirates SHOULD be able to handle them, especially since they won’t see Milwaukee’s two top starters this weekend. But…it’s Miller Park, and the Brewers might be starting to figure things out. They’re coming off a four game sweep on the road at Los Angeles. On the bright side for the Pirates, the last game of that series took place late last night, meaning the Brewers didn’t get home until about 6AM local time today. Ouch.

Tonight’s starters…

Kevin Correia (1-5, 4.30) vs. Randy Wolf (2-4, 5.73)

This is one of the least-exciting matchups you’ll probably see all year. Correia had a good start last time out, but it was against the Cubs, and he still isn’t striking anybody out. A strong outing tonight would certainly help me feel better about him hanging around in the rotation.

Wolf’s time as a reliable lefty starter may be running out, as he’s been hit quite hard for most of this year. He has been better at home, though, and has the luxury of facing the offensively-challenged Pirates tonight.
