Pirates (32-28) at Orioles (35-26)

7:05 PM EST–Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore

Here is the MLB.com Gameday

TV: ROOT Sports

During their recent stretch of of solid play, the Pirates have still had their fair share of ugly games. They’ve done a great job of “showering well” (as Clint Hurdle says) and shaking it off the next day, though, and that’s the goal tonight.

Tonight’s starters…

Kevin Correia (2-5, 4.29) vs. Brian Matusz (5-6, 4.82)

Correia has at least managed to be adequate lately, but he’s always in danger of having a big blowup if his control isn’t on point. After a rough start by Brad Lincoln yesterday, it would be great if KC can get through six innings or so while keeping the Bucs in the game. That’s all you’d expect from a guy like Correia, and he’s been able to do that for most of the year.

Matusz, another lefty, hasn’t been good this season and even had an A.J. Burnett moment yesterday when he bunted a ball off his face in the afternoon (it sounds like he’s OK though). Even though the game was essentially out of reach, the Pirates put together a good night offensively yesterday, so let’s hope they can keep it up today.

Rod Barajas is the only Pirate that has faced Matusz; he’s 0-for-4 with a strikeout against him.
