San Francisco’s (paid like a) ace Barry Zito is tying the knot this weekend with 2007 Miss Missouri, Amber Seyer. I’m not sure who wins out in this marriage, Barry Zito who gets a former Miss Missouri or Seyer, who will get half of that $126 million contract when they get divorced in three years.

Zito to marry porn star?
That's Amber on her knees (left). Suddenly, Barry's porn 'stache makes sense.
Death. Taxes. Hot chicks at Barry Zito’s bachelor pad.
There aren’t many things in life that are certain, and now you can go ahead and cross Zito’s playboy days off the short list.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the 33-year old Giants pitcher is getting married,...
Giants re-sign Jose Flores, Craig Whitaker
The minor-league free agent deals continue, as the Giants have re-signed Jose Flores and Craig Whitaker (via the incredible resource that is Baseball America’s Minor League Free Agent Database).
Craig Whitaker, 27, was the Giants’ first-round pick back in 2003. He’s pitched in 193 career games in the minors to date, mostly out of relief. He’s averaged just...
Giants have expressed interest in re-signing Mark DeRosa
Just a quick note — via Ken Rosenthal, the Giants have expressed interest in bringing back Mark DeRosa. There isn’t much to expect from him at this point. Projections are hardly a be-all and end-all, but I think the ZiPS projection for DeRosa in 2012 tells the whole story: .244/.300/.277. He’ll probably get a minor-league contract with an invite to Spring Training...
Darren Ford signs with Mariners

Speedy outfielder Darren Ford, who was released by the Giants on Nov. 18, has been signed by the Seattle Mariners.
According to the Seattle Times, Ford, who batted .286 with 7 stolen...
Waldis Joaquin clears waivers
Right-handed pitcher Waldis Joaquin has cleared waivers after he and outfielder Darren Ford were left unprotected by the Giants on Nov. 18 — the date team had to make final revisions to their 40-man rosters in preparation for the Rule 5 draft next week.
Joaquin has been down this road before. The Giants waived him last year at this time, too, and the Chicago White Sox scooped...

2010: The Dodgers sign free agent Juan Uribe to a three-year, $21 million deal to play second base for the team. The enthusiastic and versatile 31-year-old Dominican infielder, who was part of the Giants’ 2010 World Series championship run, also gives new manager Don Mattingly more options at shortstop and third base. Uribe would...
Sabean: No 'Big Splash' Additions
Appearing at a news conference Tuesday to answer questions about his new extension, Brian Sabean also discussed the ongoing free agency period and the Giants plans for adding players in order to compete for another World Series title.
And his answers should make Giants fans just about as happy as hearing that the Giants are trying to trade someone who's $5 million option they...
San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval corrects eyesight, keeps working on fitness
Summary for this story goes here and here's some morej summary to gow with this story
Pablo Sandoval: Jack-Be-Nimble, Jack-Be-Quick
He didn’t win a Gold Glove. He didn’t win a Fielding Bible Award. But Pablo Sandoval may be the best defensive third baseman in the National League, if not the majors.
Yes, I’m a San Francisco Giants fan. A season-ticket holder, in fact. So I do see a lot of Sandoval at the hot corner over the course of the season. But neither my fandom nor my eyes have blinded...
Money Talks, and Off-Season Moves May Surprise
With contract extensions completed for General Manager Brian Sabean and Manager Bruce Bochy through 2013, the San Francisco Giants' management group is now free to fully concentrate another extension: playing baseball deep into October 2012.And that brings us to two related areas of interest: the team's 2012 payroll budget, and the final 2012 25-man roster might look like...
On the Sabean Extension
It’s relatively easy to objectively evaluate players. That’s not the case with managers or GMs, however — though I gave my best shot at it earlier with respect to the Bochy extension. Now, I’ll tackle the Sabean extension. The fact of the matter is, the process of an organization’s decision-making extends beyond the GM. Always. He often gets all the...
