With the Giants now 10 games under .500 and eight games back in the NL West, it looks like the Giants may be sellers come the deadline. Their player that may be the most coveted is Hunter Pence and teams are showing interest in the free agent to be. According to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Giants will listen to offers for outfielder Hunter Pence. Rosenthal says that the Giants like Pence and want to keep him long-term. Here is Rosenthal with more: Didn’t get this on pre-game. #SFGiants will listen on Pence. Club officials believe in current position, they have to listen to everything. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) July 27, 2013 #SFGiants like Pence and need Pence. Want to keep him long-term. But given poor quality of hitters available, team may get a strong return. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) July 27, 2013 Rosenthal didn't make it sound like the Giants are all too interested in dealing Pence, but if they get a good deal for him, he may become an ex-Giant. Some teams that could show interest in Pence are the Rangers and Pirates, with the Rangers being the likely favorite for him. The Rangers are showing interest in a lot of hitters, but Pence is the most likely option right now. On the year, Pence is hitting .277 with 14 home runs, 51 RBI's and 14 stolen bases. Pence could be one of the hottest hitters on the market if the Giants do in fact make him available. A deal is not imminent right now, but with more teams likely joining the race for Pence, a deal could go down. Maybe not soon, but it could go down. San Francisco Giants: Trade rumors edition

Hunter Pence The San Francisco Giants’ season is over. After losing 3 of 4 to the Cincinnati Reds and falling to 3 and 4 on their current 10 game home stand, the Giants don’t look like the team who made magical runs in 2010 and 2012 that led them to World Series titles. The Giants have the look of a team who knows their season is over and that is rubbing off on the very passionate...

San Francisco Giants: To Trade Or Not To Trade

Javier Lopez – Photo by Marko Realmonte (GiantsInTheYard.com) The recent series loss to the Reds makes the San Francisco Giants playoff prospects pretty clear:  not terribly likely.  Given this disappointing situation, one might feel trading their marketable soon-to-be free agents (Tim Lincecum, Hunter Pence, Javier Lopez), or other players who might capture some interest and...

San Francisco Giants: post All-Star break update

On July 13th Tim Lincecum threw this season’s second no-hitter against the San Diego Padres. This occurred just days before the All-Star break and gave the San Francisco Giants hope for the first time in weeks. The defending World Series Champions looked poised to bring that momentum into a second half push for the playoffs. This fairytale like notion has come to an abrupt end...

With each loss moving the team further behind the first place rival Los Angeles...

Mistakes and Errors Cost Giants Game 1 Against the Cubs

Matt Cain exercised some AT&T Park demons, but a late collapse by the Giants cost them a win, as they fell to the Chicago Cubs 3-2 in the series opener Friday night. The Cubs were able to break through and strike first against Cain. With one out in the fourth, former-Giant Nate Schierholtz crushed a ball to right-center field for a double, and came home to score on a ground ball...

SF Giants Trade Rumors: Lincecum, Lopez, Pence,

Rosenthal: Phils Talking Lee With Other Teams

It sounds like the Phillies are talking to other teams about Cliff Lee. (PHOTO: AP) While we heard yesterday from ESPN’s Buster Olney that the Phillies have finally informed teams a certain number of their veteran players are on the trading block, Cliff Lee was apparently not on that list.  But in his Fox Sports column today, Ken Rosenthal reports that the Phillies have discussed...
