The San Francisco Giants will open their 2012 Cactus League season Saturday against last year’s National League West champs, the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The game, which will be played at Scottsdale Stadium (the Giants’ spring home), starts at 1:05 p.m. Mountain time (or 12:05 p.m. Pacific). Tickets are scare.

The game will be broadcast on KNBR 680 AM. (The first televised game won’t come until Monday night’s contest against the Milwaukee Brewers). The full pre-season broadcast schedule can be found here.

In all, the Giants will play 16 home games at Scottsdale Stadium through March 31.

Starting April 2, San Francisco will play its last three exhibition games in the Bay Area, against the Oakland A’s.

Two-time Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum is set to pitch Saturday and Giants manager Bruce Bochy will roll out most of his expected regulars, with the exception of Buster Posey and Freddy Sanchez, neither of whom are quite game-ready.

Giants fans will get their first glimpse of new center fielder Angel Pagan at the top of the order, and new left fielder Melky Cabrera somewhere in the middle of the lineup.

Bochy has said Posey (ankle, leg) and Sanchez (shoulder) will likely play in games starting March 11 or 12.
